Anti-social elements: The childhoods they had.

Let me start with
Saddam Hussein dictator, president and diplomat of middle-east oil sea, Iraq. Saddam Hussein held Iraq together during the 8 yearlong Iraq-Iran wars. Actually that’s the only major contribution he’s done for Iraq. We all know what anti-social elements and celebrities have done but do we know the kind of child hood they have had?

Many terrorists or militants or even celebrities for that matter have had horrible and unforgettable childhoods. Since Saddam is the hot boiling issue let me continue on him Saddam and his parents had problems way before he was even born. Six months before Saddam was born his father ran out on his mother, a few months later his elder brother died. His mother was obviously very depressed. She then tried to abort the then unborn Saddam and she also tried to commit suicide. However after birth Saddam lived with his maternal uncle. From whom he learnt a lot he says. He was a militant Iraqi nationalist.

Well Osama-Bin-Laden another prominent antisocial thorn has a totally different story, apart from publicly admitting that he has had a bad childhood he has indeed had one. In 1994 the Bin-Laden's went live to say” we have disowned him (osama)."Osama's parent’s parents divorced soon after he was born. Osama's mother would then remarry in the 70's which left him with 4-stepsiblings. Apart from that fact Osama has been an awesome student and he has a degree as an engineer, ironic given he likes to destroy.

Now lets see those celebrities who have been famous but yet they have had bad childhoods. William Bailey Rose a.k.a Axl Rose singer and songwriter of legendry hard rock band Guns'N'Roses has had a twisted childhood. His dad a religious man left home when Axl was just two years old. The rest is deja-vous. Axl says his maiden father his mother then remarried sexually abused him and Axl's step dad physically abused him. Lot more followed which compiles one of the sad and twisted celebrity childhoods. Similarly James Hetfield lead singer and heavy metal group Metallica's founder has also had frustrating and prolonged periods of mal-childhood.


However when asked about this matter people have a wide ray of answers some feel that every second person goes through it. But a lot believe that it is wrong thing for little children to experience such black-acts. But not all who are subjected to bad childhoods are terrorists, dictators or founders of rock bands. To take Arnold Schwarzenegger; has had a very oppressive childhood says the Hollywood macho-man turned governor and senator. In a documentary on his life it was shown that his stepfather treated him like Cinderella! Literally. But he overcame it to be a mega-success story. Very lately Teri Hatcher one of the Desperate Housewives (a hit TV series) and a successful Hollywood woman has come out and said that her father sexually abused her. She went on to say” he would pull over the car and undress me and touch me and make me do all sorts of things which to some extent I wanted to be part of."

But it is interesting to observe that if not for a bad child hood would all these people have such lives? Would Arnold have achieved so much? Or would Saddam be on the verge of being hung? All these people have overcome their difficulties and have channeled out their energies in as many ways. Every one of them uniquely. What they have achieved is good or bad that remains to be seen. It is very few in our race that gets driven when they have setbacks. Those who find it within themselves to dig deep and search the unexplored and put to rest the storm they battled when they were little.
